Excalibur Communication Inc. ceased as a company in 1999 but still exists
today mainly on the internet though dial up is supported.

There are approximately 10 currently working Excalibur BBS's world wide
from a list of thousands in it's heyday.

The host software v 1.52 and the terminal program are available on several
web sites and Excalibur BBS's. An XP designed terminal created by David at
the Tecmecca BBS incorporates the ability to "find" the proper root windows
directory. A feature the original terminal didn't offer. Although the
excaltrm.exe terminal works with any Windows OS from 3.11 to XP, the
xpclient.exe is recommended.

There are several third party plugin creators who have released their
programs as freeware to any Excalibur SysOp. JDS, ACE, GEXPro,
tangent thought offer free use with a simple registration or from direct
download.

Though the Excalibur BBS software is still available to purchase, a
reseller has released the 4 node license numbers he purchased to the
general public. These offer TCP/IP and dialup and are listed on the
alt.bbs.excalibur news group and www.tecmecca.ath.cx.

A walk through setup is available at www.tecmecca.ath.cx along with
downloads of the terminal(s) and host software. Additional information is
available at www.chevychase.com and www.frankenserver.org.

A complete list of plugins are available at the Tecmecca, Burma Cave! and
Far Side BBS's at @tecmecca.ath.cx, @burmacave.ath.cx and
@excalbbs.hobby-site.com:1962. BBS's using the terminal program.
