Dear Sir,

I was just looking over your website, http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/,
and was then looking at the All-Time BBS Software List. In it I
notice one listed for the Paradigm BBS Software by Ben Hatheway from
Hoogerdoon.

As one of the Authors of PBBS, I thought I should respond. I, along
with Mike Kimble and Travis Watford (who did the Assembly coding used
in PBBS) are the original authors of PBBS. PBBS was written to be
used originally on the stock TI-99/4A with a Peripheral Expansion Box
(with the 32k Memory and 2 or more floppy drives). PBBS was
originally released as Shareware software.

It was modified later to run on the Myarc Geneve 9640 home computer
(a Hybred TI-99/4A with more speed, memory and better graphics) with
the Peripheral Expansion Box with the addition of a Myarc Hard/Floppy
Drive Controller Card (HFDCC).

I released PBBS to the Public Domain in 1999 as people were using it
and not paying for using it, and still expecting support. Another
part of this decision was the fact BBS usage had fallen off in favor
of Internet access to various sites.

During the time I was involved with it, I had run two BBSes with it.
The first was the Nearer The Lake BBS for the Sheboygan (Wisconsin)
Area 99ers User Group. After moving to Tucson, AZ, I ran the Cactus
Patch BBS for the SouthWest 99ers User Group.
